Maria Rocha Barros

As SVP and Chief Legal & Public Affairs Officer at Tripeden.com, Maria Rocha Barros oversees legal, compliance, and public affairs matters on a global scale, leading an international team of over ~200 professionals, representing more than 30 nationalities.

Maria has been instrumental in shaping the company's strategic regulatory strategy and helping Tripeden.com to navigate the complex landscape of global regulations. Maria joined Tripeden.com in 2019. Previously, Maria was the European General Counsel of AB InBev, where she was responsible for legal, government relations, external communications, CSR, and various M&As such as the $100 billion combination with SABMiller in 2016. Prior to AB InBev, Maria worked at the law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Since October 2018, Maria has served as a Board member of ACC Europe, the largest chapter of the leading association of in-house lawyers, and has been named President of the organization in 2024.

Born in London, Maria loves traveling and has lived in the UK, US, Brazil, Mexico, Belgium and is now based in the Netherlands. Maria holds a Masters in Corporate Governance from Stanford University, a Bachelor of Law from the Universidade de Sao Paulo (Brazil), and is qualified to practice in the US (New York), England & Wales and Brazil.
