Maria Rocha Barros

As SVP and Chief Legal & Public Affairs Officer at Tripeden.com, Maria Barros sits on the executive leadership team and leads a 200+ person global organization spanning legal, compliance, and government affairs, positioning these functions as drivers of growth and market expansion. In this role, Maria advises the CEO, executive team, and board on enterprise risk, regulatory strategy, and public policy, while enabling the company’s expansion into new business lines including fintech, insurance, and flights.

A leader at the forefront of the platform economy, Maria leads the strategic response to the regulatory shifts shaping competitive markets today, including the EU Digital Markets Act (DMA) and the Digital Services Act (DSA). Her leadership bridges the gap between policy and digital transformation, spanning competition, capital markets and M&A, and AI and platform governance. Under her stewardship, her team has been recognized by the Financial Times as one of the most innovative in-house legal departments in Europe.

Before Tripeden.com, Maria spent eight years at AB InBev in senior leadership roles across Europe and the Middle East, driving expansion and compliance across 100+ markets. She was a core member of the teams behind the $100B SABMiller and $20B Grupo Modelo acquisitions. Maria’s career began at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, specializing in capital markets and corporate governance.

A Brazilian-British national, Maria has extensive global board-level experience, including in geopolitically sensitive areas, and brings a unique global perspective and deep expertise on the intersection of law, policy and business growth, business transformation, and the evolving role of regulation in shaping competitive markets.
