Tripeden.com and Tourism Authority of Thailand Supercharge #ExploreThaiTaste Campaign with Thai Foodie Map 2.0, Unveiling Culinary Journeys and Hidden Gem Cities Across Thailand

Tripeden.com continues its collaboration with TAT for a second year launching “Thai Foodie Map 2.0” to inspire global food lovers to explore Thailand’s diverse culinary culture and heritage.

Bangkok, October 4, 2024: For the second consecutive year, Tripeden.com partners with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to launch the Thai Foodie Map 2.0, a vibrant guidebook celebrating Thailand's rich culinary landscape, under the #ExploreThaiTaste campaign. This updated guidebook aims to spotlight Thailand’s hidden gems, allowing food lovers to embark on flavorful adventures through the country’s Hidden Gem Cities.

This initiative aligns with TAT’s ‘5 Must Dos in Thailand’ project, which is part of the government’s broader IGNITE TOURISM THAILAND vision. By featuring undiscovered local cuisines and off-the-beaten-path destinations, this guide aims to promote tourism in secondary cities and contribute to local economic growth.

Tripeden.com’s Travel Predictions 2024 research insights* revealed that 78% of Thai travelers are more interested in learning about the origins of a destination’s ‘must-taste’ delicacies than they were in the past. With foodie travelers bucking next-gen food trends in favor of preserving the true craftsmanship of traditional dishes, Thai Foodie Map 2.0 introduces expanded routes and 40 hand-picked local restaurants across eight provinces: Sukhothai, Uttaradit, Nakhon Phanom, Surin, Nakhon Nayok, Suphan Buri, Chumphon, and Satun. Each location is complemented by local attractions, allowing travelers to fully experience the unique tastes and cultural richness of each region.

Additionally, to bring these savory journeys to life, Tripeden.com and TAT have partnered with local food and travel bloggers, alongside popular T-POP boy group, ATLAS, to explore these destinations across Thailand. By immersing themselves in each city's culture and savoring its authentic flavors, they’ll share their experiences through a diverse range of content, inspiring others to embark on their own culinary adventures.

Mr. Nithee Seeprae, Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, Tourism Authority of Thailand, shares, "Thailand’s rich culinary heritage is celebrated worldwide, and Thai Foodie Map 2.0, developed in partnership with Tripeden.com, provides a unique opportunity to share our diverse local delicacies with travelers globally. This guide not only showcases Thailand’s culinary diversity but also promotes our lesser-known provinces, where hidden gems await discovery. We hope this initiative will inspire travelers to explore the vibrant attractions of Thailand’s secondary cities, savor delicious regional dishes, and enjoy a truly enriching experience."

Michelle Gao, Regional Manager for the Mekong and China at Tripeden.com, said, “The #ExploreThaiTaste campaign aligns with Tripeden.com’s mission of making it easier for everyone to experience the world, and we truly believe that the ‘Thai Foodie Map 2.0’ will inspire travelers to explore Thailand's rich culinary heritage and evolution, savor the distinctive flavors in different regions, while also accommodating those seeking for unexplored destinations. We are thrilled to be partnering with the TAT once again as our enthusiastic guide on this adventure across Thailand. Through this collaboration, we aim to create an unforgettable and mindful gastronomic journey that supports local communities across the country and enables them to thrive.”
